Dennis Mills will seek the office of Morgan County Sheriff in the upcoming May Republican primary. Presenting a positive alternative through several issue-based focus areas combined with a 23-year criminal justice career.
The individual deputy must be able to respond to daily emergencies. Current expenditures on delayed specialty responses have placed a priority on units used less frequently.
Law enforcement fundamentals are another important focus area “Serve and protect” will be a standard and not just a motto. The average citizen rarely has a need to contact the department, but when the need happens they deserve and expect to be treated with respect, and professionalism, in a timely manner.
Mills said, “School programs were eliminated by the current administration and I pledge to invest in our youth by placing a deputy in the classroom again,” Mills said. “Documented after hours business checks will be conducted along with checks on 24-hour businesses. Criminal activity alerts and prevention material will also be shared.
